OSIP

One Stop Investment Platform

One Stop Investment Platform (OSIP) is the data/information gateway to investing in renewable energy and energy efficiency in Nigeria.

One Stop Investment Platform

Nigeria currently has an installed electricity capacity that is far below national demand, renewable energy potential that is among the largest on the continent, and a policy environment increasingly aligned with the energy transition.

The conditions for transformative clean energy investment exist. What has been missing is a single, reliable entry point for investors who want to act and take advantage of the opportunity.

The One-Stop Investment Platform (OSIP) was built to fill that gap.

How OSIP Works

OSIP is a structured investment facilitation platform covering Nigeria's clean energy and energy efficiency sectors.

It is a decision-support tool, designed to give investors, developers, and financiers the verified, sector-specific information they need to assess opportunities, understand the regulatory environment, and move toward investment.

The platform covers ten clean energy technology sectors, including solar, bioenergy, wind, green mobility, clean cooking, storage, small hydro, energy efficiency, green hydrogen, and agricultural productive use of energy (PUE).

Across each sector, OSIP provides technology profiles, market entry guidance, and stakeholder data, all structured to reduce the time and friction between investor interest and investment decision.

Who Built it and Why

OSIP is an initiative of the Nigeria Energy Support Programme Phase III (NESP III), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union.

It was developed in close collaboration with key regulatory and industry stakeholders across the clean energy value chain. The platform reflects a direct response to a well-documented barrier to clean energy investment in Nigeria: not the absence of interest, but the absence of structured, credible, accessible market intelligence. OSIP addresses that barrier at its root.

Our Partner: Nigerian Investment Promotion Council

OSIP's primary institutional partner is the Nigerian Investment Promotion Council (NIPC), the country's apex investment promotion agency, established by the NIPC Act to encourage, promote, and coordinate investments in the Nigerian economy.

The partnership is a natural one. NIPC's mandate is to make Nigeria a competitive destination for both domestic and foreign investment. OSIP's mandate is to make Nigeria's clean energy sector accessible, and investable. Together, they form a coordinated entry point for investors navigating one of Africa's most dynamic energy markets.

Investors using OSIP are not operating in isolation; they are entering a system with an established institutional pathway for registration, incentive access, and regulatory engagement.

NIPC's One-Stop Investment Centre (OSIC) framework further reinforces this, offering investors a consolidated channel through which to interface with multiple federal agencies at a single point.

OSIP serves a diverse but focused investor community:

What Makes OSIP Different

Nigeria's clean energy investment landscape has not lacked for reports, frameworks, or policy documents. What it has lacked is a living platform that consolidates regulatory data, technology intelligence, and market entry guidance in a format built for investor use.

OSIP is maintained through an active stakeholder network spanning federal ministries and agencies, industry associations, development partners, and technical experts. The data it carries is current, sector-specific, and structured to answer the questions investors actually ask.

An Invitation to Invest

Nigeria's clean energy transition is an active market, shaped by policy reform, growing domestic demand, and increasing private sector participation. OSIP exists to make that market accessible to investors and developers who can accelerate it.

You are welcome to explore the platform and find your sector to invest!
